As corn farmers, we know the value of our crops and corn in all forms, and when the opportunity arose to be the title partner of Iowa’s premier NASCAR Cup Series race, Iowa Corn jumped at the chance! The first ever Cup race provides an opportunity to showcase the power and performance of ethanol and is also a major platform to share what we as farmers are doing today to create a more sustainable crop for the future.
Surveys done by Iowa Corn consistently show that farmers across the state want to boost ethanol demand and educate consumers about its benefits. As the title partner of the Iowa Corn 350, Powered by Ethanol we will be able to spotlight ethanol’s benefits on a national stage. With over 25,000 grandstand tickets sold out and an anticipated audience of 4.1 million viewers, this race promises to be a momentous occasion for corn farmers and consumers alike.
Race enthusiasts will witness E15’s performance firsthand and learn about ethanol as the clear fuel option. Ensuring the next time they have an option at the pump they will choose E15/Unleaded 88 because ethanol isn’t just beneficial on the track; it’s a win for drivers’ wallets, the environment and Iowa’s corn farmers.
However, that’s not all we will be recognizing. The Iowa Corn 350 name signifies the economic benefit corn has to the state and across the country. If you divide Iowa’s 2023 corn crop by the race’s 350 laps, each time around the track would equate to 7 million bushels.
This race has the potential to spread a positive message about ethanol, the environment and our economic impact as corn farmers to millions of viewers and I am excited to see it soar. For more insights into how your corn checkoff dollars are invested, visit iowacorn.org.
