Check-in on the Checkoff August 2023

Saying goodbye isn’t always easy, but my year as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board President wraps up at the end of the month. Throughout my year as President, a major goal was to make sure every farmer in the state knows the value of what the Iowa Corn checkoff does for them., which is why I started this column in the first place. I believe in the work and value of the corn checkoff and see the return on investment not just for my farm, but all Iowa corn farmers, and for the benefit of the overall Iowa Economy.

As I round out my year, I want to say thank you to all of you that contribute to the corn checkoff this enables the Iowa Corn Promotion Board to diligently invest in market development, research for new uses of corn and education for the long-term profitability for Iowa’s corn growers.

Without us as farmers contributing to the Iowa Corn checkoff, none of Iowa Corn’s work, on our behalf, would be possible. Making it harder for us to market our corn, create new uses and share with consumers the value corn brings to their everyday life through the over 4,000 everyday products it is in.

Therefore, it’s crucial to collaborate and pool our resources together so we are able to make a larger impact through the Iowa corn checkoff.

Thank you,

Larry Buss
