Mikayla Colehour, District 6

Mikayla Colehour farms in Linn County where she raises corn, soybeans, oats and hay. Along with her husband, Keith, they also raise bees, a small flock of chickens, ducks, guineas, turkeys and peafowls and have a cow/calf operation. Growing up, Mikayla was always active on her family’s farm and found her passion for conservation. On their farm they utilize minimum tillage, waterways and are working on incorporating cover crops into their rotations.

Currently Mikayla serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Director representing District 6 and on the Exports and Grain Trade Committee.

Mikayla is a graduate of Iowa State University and was actively involved in her local FFA chapter growing up. She has been an engaged member of the Linn County Corn Growers Board, the Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team, the Iowa Corn’s Animal Ag and the Environment Committee and Grassroots Network, Membership and Checkoff Committee. Mikayla also serves on the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Stewardship Action Team (STAT) and currently is the vice chair, a Corn Sustainability Advisory Group representative for STAT, NCGA Resolutions Committee and represents Iowa Corn on the Iowa Ag Water Alliance Advisory Council. She is an active member of Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa Farm Bureau and Iowa Cattlemen’s Association. Currently she also serves as the township clerk.

Mikayla has been involved with Iowa Corn since she was little and very active since she was sixteen. She enjoys advocating for Iowa farmers through all the roles she has played and looks forward to taking on this next leadership role to continue advocating for corn.
