Larry Buss, Chair

Larry Buss is a row crop farmer from Logan, Iowa. He has had success at two distinctly different careers at the same time which are engineering for 49 years and farming for 47 years.

Larry currently serves as the Iowa Corn Promotion Board Chair and serves on the Research & Business Development Committee.

He has served in the US Army Reserve, held positions with the US Army Corps of Engineers in the field of water resources engineering and served on the external advisory council for the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at Iowa State University. He currently serves as Chair of the Rand-Peterson Levee District Board of Trustees, Lt. Governor of Division of the Nebraska – Iowa Kiwanis District, Vice President of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Vice President of the Iowa Master Farmer Association, on the board of the Coalition to Protect the Missouri River, a member of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Iowa Soybean Association, Nebraska Soybean Association, National Corn Growers Risk Management Action Team, US Grains Council Mideast/Africa/South Asia Action Team, the Iowa Pest Resistance Management Program Harrison County Project Leader and Member of Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee.

His goals for the Iowa Corn Promotion Board include profitability for Iowa corn producers, finding new areas to add value to corn to expanding corn markets, and expanded education and information on the value and use of corn.

Larry has degrees from Iowa State University and the University of Nebraska. Larry and his wife, Bunny, have two sons (Troy and Jason) who are involved in the family farming/ag business operation along with their spouses and grandson.
