
Joe Roberts, President
Joe is a third-generation farmer from Belmond, Iowa, where his family raises corn and soybeans using a variety of conservation practices, including strip-till, no-till, and cover crops. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University, majoring in Agricultural Business, Agronomy, and Seed Science.
After graduating, Joe returned home to farm alongside his wife, Paige, and his parents. Together, they also operate a seed dealership with Beck’s Hybrids. Joe and Paige live in Belmond and remain deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and their rural community.
Joe currently serves as President of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and is actively involved in several state and national agricultural organizations. He is a committee member on the Exports and Grain Trade Committee, a member of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Research and New Uses Action Team, and serves on the U.S. Grains Council Middle East and Southeast Asia Advisory Team.
Locally, Joe is the board president of Trinity Lutheran Church, a board member of the Wright County Farm Bureau, and serves on the Wright County Corn Growers Board. He also volunteers his time with various Wright County 4-H events, giving back to the program that played a key role in developing his leadership skills.
Joe’s leadership journey has been shaped by a variety of industry development opportunities, including participation in the Iowa Corn I-LEAD program and the NCGA Leadership Academy. He has also served on the Iowa Corn District 2 Committee, and committees at Iowa Corn including Industrial Usage and Production, Research and Business Development, and the Grassroots Network, Membership & Checkoff. Through these roles, Joe has developed a strong appreciation for the grassroots foundation of Iowa Corn and remains committed to advancing its mission through farmer-led leadership to identifying new opportunities and innovative uses for corn that drive demand and deliver strong returns to farmers.
Joe believes that consumer education, particularly around biofuels, is more important than ever in advancing practical, sustainable energy solutions. As emerging markets such as sustainable aviation fuel and other ethanol-based products continue to develop, he advocates for increased awareness and support for these promising avenues. With agriculture constantly evolving, Joe understands the importance of adaptability. He is dedicated to representing the interests of Iowa corn farmers by staying responsive to new challenges, issues, and projects that may arise, ensuring that farmer-led solutions remain at the forefront of industry progress.
