Growers Association, Corn Checkoff Announce Electi

JOHNSTON,Iowa – July 22, 2010 – New farmer leaders for the Iowa Corn GrowersAssociation (ICGA) and the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) will bring grassrootspolicy issues forward and make sure that market development, education andresearch continue to create opportunities for Iowa corn grower profitability.  Separate ICGA and ICPB elections were held onJuly 13.  Re-elected incumbent directorsare indicated with a star.   

Iowa Corn Growers Association

District 2 – Jay Lynch, Humboldt County *

District 3 – Mark Recker, Fayette County

District 6 – Jim Greif, Linn County

District 8 – Steve Williams, Warren County *

District 9 – Jerry Main, Jefferson County*

At-Large – Dean Taylor, JasperCounty*

Iowa Corn Promotion Board

District 2 – Chris Edgington, Mitchell County

District 3 – Don Elsbernd, Allamakee County

District 4 – Curt Schweers, Carroll County*

District 6 – Bob Bowman, Clinton County

District 7 – Duane Aistrope, Fremont County

District 9 – Dick Gallagher, Washington County*


Directorelections are only held in districts where terms have expired. For thosedistricts not listed, current directors still serve on the board.   

TheICPB and ICGA share a common mission to create opportunities for long-term Iowa corn growerprofitability.  The ICGA represents morethan 6,000 farmer members and lobbies on a variety of agricultural issuesimportant to growers.  TheICPB is responsible for investing Iowacorn checkoff funds to develop and defend markets, conduct research, andprovide education about corn and products made from corn.
